A COMPANY HISTORY
When it was first founded in 1938 by Mr. John Carroll, Carroll Appliance Parts and Service Company was a totally different firm than it is today. In contrast to Carroll's current leadership position as a national appliance parts distributor, in its first several decades of operation, Carroll was strictly a firm that provided appliance repair services -- working primarily on appliances for the home.

Carroll was purchased in 1966 by partners Herman Jenkins and John Casey. It was soon after this acquisition that Carroll began its shift from being a company that provided service exclusively to becoming a provider of both service and parts. The role of parts supplier was solidified in 1973 when the company became the exclusive distributor for ISE Factory Authorized Parts within an 8-state region, which has now increased to a 37-state region. ISE manufacturers the In-Sink-Erator line of products.

Carroll's outstanding work with ISE products prompted ISE's parent company Emerson Electric to begin using Carroll to distribute its products in 1979, bringing Emerson's "Air Comfort Products" and "Moist Air Products" to Carroll on a national distribution basis. Landing the Emerson account, which was followed by the Marley Electric Heating account, completed the transformation of Carroll to a full-scale appliance products and parts distribution company. It was this company that Carroll's current owners, Mark Casey and Ken Brock acquired from the Casey/Jenkins partnership in January 1987. Casey and Brock have significantly accelerated the firm's growth and development over the past decade.

In striking contrast to its origins as an appliance service company, today Carroll's business is dominated (98 percent) by its parts business. In fact, its service staff now works only in the Kansas City metropolitan area, which is the site of the company's headquarters offices and warehouse. However, service is still a primary part of Carroll's parts distribution philosophy, since the firm provides 800-number technical support services for many of its products.

Carroll Parts prides itself on being one of the best parts distributors in the country in terms of its ability to provide meaningful technical knowledge to support the products it sells. When you call Carroll Parts, you can rest assured that its sales staff understands the technology behind the products you buy, and can answer any questions you may have.
